Tips for Movember Maintenance + Where to Party

Tips for Movember Maintenance + Where to Party

Ah yes, it’s that time of year. Movember. We are already one week into that time of year when boys and men prove just how manly they can be by making an effort to grow a proper mustache. I absolutely love this philanthropic campaign which raises awareness for Prostate Cancer by growing out their ‘staches. My daddy is a Prostate Cancer survivor and I am grateful for organizations such as the Prostate Cancer Foundation, LIVESTRONG, and THE MOVEMBER FOUNDATION for their commitment to raise awareness for men’s health. Together, the three channels work together to ensure that Movember funds support a broad range of innovative, world-class programs in the areas of Prostate Cancer awareness and education, survivorship and research in the US.

While I think it’s sexy to support such an important cause… it is not sexy to walk around looking like a mangled grizzly bear. Manscaping is still a must. And luckily BLO in Midtown Miami has a few tips for #MoMaintenance

Tip #1 – Plan your mustache and think about what style suits your face best. Brad likes to keep it simple with a well-groomed Mo.

Tip #2 – If you haven’t grown one before or in a while, you’re going to find it itchy so make sure to moisturize. Remind yourself that other men have endured worse in the past; surely you can stand a little face tickle from your Mo. Use a product like Kiehl’s Facial Fuel Heavy Lifting to soothe and hydrate your skin during the process.

Tip #3 – You’ll want to use plenty of shampoo and conditioner to keep your ‘stache clean, soft and smelling great. Personally, I love the clean smell of Peter Thomas Roth MEGA-RICH™ SHAMPOO and CONDITIONER. They infuse Biotin into their products which will help the growth of your Mo!

Tip #4 – Make sure you have sharp scissors or a hair trimmer to keep it in shape for the next few weeks. If you’re committed to moustachery pick up a pair of barber scissors for precise trimming, a set of clippers for uniformity, a fine-toothed comb for guidance, a large mirror for a good view, a trusty razor, a steady hand and a determined mind

For men still deciding what style to go for, follow the Blo Guide to a Man’s most coveted Mustache and their team of stylists will help you along the way.

Visit BLO Midtown during your ‘stache-growing journey and for $25 get the Bro Service, which includes a 20-minute head massage, shampoo (both your head and mustache) and blow out with mustache styling. $5 of every bro service purchased will go to benefit THE MOVEMBER FOUNDATION.

If you are looking to celebrate your ‘stache, RSVP to Beards Babes & Beats at Lou La Vie Art Gallery & Exotic Car Rental where you can join other bros for one last hoorah before the shave. The event will be held on November 30th and proceeds will also benefit THE MOVEMBER FOUNDATION.

And for the ladies reading my post here is one more photo just for you!

Sorry bros – I must cater to all of my readers 😉

Thanks for this important information on the meaning of the mustache this month, but the photos were very “informative” as well. 🙂
