This week’s soiree wasn’t just a regular party. It was the welcome party for the newest arrival to Miami – the Centurion Lounge at the Miami International Airport! When I received the invite I was stoked because in my prior career, I was in and out of airport lounges… even missed a flight because I was enjoying too much vino at a private Lounge in Atlanta whoopsies! Since I’ve heard many tales about the various Centurion lounges and their amenities I was curious to see what they had to offer. And if the services provided for the soiree are an indication of the service at the lounge – welp, I’m impressed. A private car courtesy of American Express scooped me up and escorted me to the event. Once I arrived the staff made sure the guests were quickly processed through the TSA checkpoints and once in the lounge – the party was in full force.
I had such a great time meeting other bloggers including some of my favorite travel bloggers that flew in for this event. The lounge is spectacular and even though we were in the airport – it literally felt like we were lounging at a hotel bar on South Beach. The difference – the service was impeccable. One of my favorite details is that American Express partnered with two of my local favorites: Chef Michelle Bernstein curated the menu and Jim Meehan put together a cocktail menu to prepare any jetsetter for their trip. Ahem – me! Need a mani & pedi? No problem! Exhale is also on board to provide the spa services for the lounge. My favorite dish of the night was the watermelon and cucumber salad topped with feta – it was so refreshing and very Miami. #Yum
This lounge is American Express’ fifth location with other lounges currently open at LaGuardia Airport, McCarran International Airport, Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport and San Francisco International Airport. The Centurion Lounge network is designed to be an oasis where AMEX Platinum and Centurion Card Members can relax and recharge while they’re on the road and enjoy a host of exclusive amenities including chef-crafted fare, delicious cocktails, Wi-Fi and private work stations (if you must work!), spa services, onsite professionals to provide Card and travel related services.
I cant wait to arrive early to the airport and literally lounge! It gives me a new reason (aside from vino) to miss a flight and relax. You might be asking what I wore to this event. Check out the deets below.
The Centurion Lounge is complimentary for Platinum Card® and Centurion® Members, and their immediate family or up to two travel companions. All other Card Members have the opportunity to purchase a day pass to the lounge for a $50 fee. One of the cool perks of attending – I received my TSA Pre-Check before the event, so now I am ready to jet! I guess you will be reading more about my favorite places on the blog oh-so-soon!
