Valentine’s Day is one of my favorite holidays regardless of my relationship status. The holiday is super girly and frilly, and it’s a perfect excuse to be extra feminine on this day. This year I am opting out of the restaurant madness and creating an intimate and romantic living room picnic at home.
The Indoor Picnic Setup
I used my coffee table as the ideal spot to have the dinner. You could use your dining table or the floor, but since my coffee table is low enough, I decided to go with it. I used Euro pillows covered in white silk as floor cushions and added throw blankets to create an intimate space.
I picked out cute pink and gold items to add a subtle hint of romance. The gold lantern and floral display set to the side of the table adds intimate lighting without disturbing eye contact while dining.
And so we wouldn’t have to get up to grab anything form the kitchen, I brought over all of the condiments like the salt and pepper shaker. So remember, the less distractions from your date, the more room for romance!
His + Her
I’m all about sharing, buuut when it comes to dessert I want to be clear on the boundaries surrounding chocolate. So, I thought it would be cute to have “his and her” utensils and different desserts. This way there’s no confusion. Hands off my dessert! I used a matte black setup for my babe and rose gold for myself. So cute right?! I also brought out one of favorite books, Love Letters of Great Men, in case my handsome date would like to read me a passage. Let’s be real, that probably won’t happen, but regardless the book makes a nice display. Ha!

Dinner is Served!
I picked up dinner from a local restaurant because cooking a nice meal during the weekday can be time consuming especially after work. Besides… I spent all day decorating, so why not let a pro take care of dinner. AMIRIGHT? It’s a shortcut the no one needs to know about.
The Snapper with quick fired vegetables, cucumber peanut salad, coconut curry looked stunning on a plate. I asked the restaurant to prepare two cute desserts with our dinners. Both the main dish and dessert paired perfectly with the Barefoot Wines Rosé and Brut Rosé respectively.
I picked up an adorable picnic basket and added some pink wines. It’s a fun way to add more color to the picnic… and we could save all of the leftover bottles of wine for another occasion.

An indoor picnic is just what cupid ordered! It is the perfect way to create romance without leaving the house. It’s also a nice change of pace to watching movies on the couch!
Remember some of the most lovely memories are created in simple and intimate settings.
