What to Wear to the River Yacht Club AND Better Days

What to Wear to the River Yacht Club AND Better Days

My friend Anthony cracks me up, our nights out will often end with him ordering a limo for our friends to go around town. He was one of my first friends in Brickell and naturally one of my first subscribers to Brickellista (he didn’t have a choice really). So when I was on my epic quest to find out what guys want to read about, Anthony was one of the first bros I reached out to. And one of his questions was pretty specific, what should I wear to Better Days AND the River Yacht Club?

Surprisingly, many guys in Miami have fashion related questions because it’s so friggin’ hot outside! True, some dudes also said they want to see “babes in bikinis” and sports recaps, but primarily guys want to know how to impress the ladies and not sweat like a mo-fo outside. Since Miami weekends often transition from day drinking to an evening chill sesh at Better Days, it’s no surprise guys are baffled by what to wear for a day like this.

Luckily, Brickell City Centre has new stores for the Y chromosome, so I rolled up my sleeves, grabbed Zoey, and went for a little shopping trip to answer Anthony’s question. I also turned to Gossip Girl for inspiration because why not?!

The Chuck Bass Summer Suit

To recreate Chuck’s look (dude on the left in photo above for non Gossip Girl lovers), it’s important to keep it light. Meaning the fabric and the colors…. if not you’ll Schvitz like a mo-fo and no one wants to see that. My suggestion pair a light sports coat with shorts to transition easily from Better Days to River Yacht Club. Oh, and bring the champagne because nothing is hotter than a guy walking in with a bottle of bubbles (or a puppy). In fact, just bring both.

The Nate Archibald Minimal Swagger

I’m not gonna lie, when I started watching Gossip Girl, I had a thing for Nate (guy on right in header photo above). He really doesn’t GAF about fashion and always manages to look pretty damn hot. This look is more about attitude and less about accessories. To channel your inner Nate, find a linen shirt that’s a solid and is a good color for your skin tone. Pink is always hot on a guy and the ladies will love you for it. BUTTTTT the Ted Baker Linen Blend shirt in blue is also sexy!! Keep the shorts or throw on a pair of Chinos. I gave you both options here – you’re welcome.

Pull your look together with a fragrance that will turn heads. Check out Hugo Boss’ Bottled Tonic. It’s one of my favs and I’ll follow you around like a creeper if you wear it.

There you have it – two looks and a few transitional pieces to help you get through the rest of steamy August. Hope you guys enjoyed! And thanks to my friend Donny for patiently answering all of my bro fashion questions while creating this post.
