Core Fusion Extreme CFX Brings the Heat to Miami

Core Fusion Extreme - Exhale - Epic Hotel

20150312-100201-36121536.jpgIt’s official, the newest addition to Exhale’s Core Fusion family has arrived to Miami and I couldn’t be giddier (and sorer!).  Core Fusion Extreme a.k.a CFX officially debuts today at the Downtown Miami location. Extreme is an understatement because this class will have you move through power stations consisting of high intensity stations that will shake your badunk-ka-dunk right into shape. Each station incorporates heavy hand weights, a plyo box, TRX suspension training, cardio explosions and intense core work.

I was lucky to meet Bergen Wheeler, CFX Creator, and probably one of the most vivacious people I’ve met to date! Bergen says that CFX is different from other high intensity interval trainings because the focus is on form versus the amount of reps. This helps to make sure your body is properly aligned to avoid injuries. Do them right and your booty will look mighty fine after a few classes.

Each class starts with a cardio warm up series before moving to the stations. Bergen (or Julie, or Alexandra) will run through the station exercises.

20150311-224126-81686101.jpgEach station consists of two exercises. You’ll perform the each exercise for 40 seconds twice, with a break in between. CFX consists of two rounds at each station – don’t be fooled 40 seconds sounds like a short amount of time, but you will quickly feel the burn!  After the second round there is an active recovery between each exercise

20150311-213305-77585143.jpgMy favorite part about the class is the variation. Each class is different and Bergen has created a monthly plan specific for the Downtown Miami location which focuses on different exercises. I also love the fast paced environment – the class zips by, but the results last!

Make sure you shop for some cute kicks too! Sneakers are required for this class – and I’m always looking for a reason to shop. My favorite are the Nike Free line. These are a running shoe, but they are super light weight, which makes it easy(ier) to jump on the plyo box. Plus, the bright colors are sure to garner lots of compliments. Whoop!

Alexandra Shepherd, Bergen Wheeler, Julie Wiesman

Bergen is one of the nations most sought after fitness instructors, and she has brought the heat to Miami with her CFX class.  Make sure you visit Exhale tonight for a CFX class with Bergen or sweat with the fabulous Miami teachers like Julie and Alexandra the rest of the year. The classes will be complimentary for non-members for only 7 days so make sure you secure your spot because they fill up fast!

Great job with this article! You are so cute and fit so your point of view is well taken! Love reading all of your posts. I especially love the juice cleanse post where you talk about the top 3 juice cleanses. I like that you don’t claim to be an expert but just give your perspective and opinions without offending anyone. I’ve read a lot of other blogs that anger me because they are so rude! I’m so happy I found your blog because your positive and upbeat attitude is contagious. Please write more about fitness and health!

Thank you Rachel! I try to be as positive as possible for the reasons you mentioned. I appreciate you reading Brickellista Files and am glad you find the content relevant 🙂 I’ll take your suggestion for more health related articles and will make sure to find opportunities to talk more about these topics moving forward.

Brickellista where is your shirt from? It’s such a fun color I need it in my gym clothes rotation 🙂

Core fusion Extreme sounds pretty intense. How many times can you go each week? Do you think it’s a class you should only do once a week? I want to build slim muscles and not look “beefy” haha.
