Staycation: The Diplomat Beach Resort

Staycation: The Diplomat Beach Resort

When the Miami heat rises over summer, locals start planning their latest escape. This year I vowed to myself I would getaway at least once a month to explore a new destination. My favorite stops are usually not too far from Miami. So, I packed up my favorite swimmies and headed up North to Hollywood Beach Florida for a beachside staycation at the Diplomat Beach Resort. The resort has everything you need onsite so no need to leave the property! It was exactly what I needed to take some serious R&R and recharge just in time for the work week.

The Room is made for Brickellista!

The Diplomat certainly ensured no detail was overlooked when they redesigned their rooms. It became our modern sanctuary for the weekend and no complaints on my end from the decor. PINK EVERYWHERE!!! Including the cutest Smeg fridge in the room. I almost stole it, but it wouldn’t fit in my handbag.

Point Royal has the BEST Rose Sangria!

After check-in (and a much needed nap) the first stop was dinner… the difficult part was deciding where to dine! They have seven restaurants on site. You know me, I’m a big hungry girl and I wanted to dine at all seven at once. It was a toss up between Monkitail and Point Royal, but I’ve been dying to dine at one of Geoffrey Zakarian’s restaurants so Point Royal won the dinner challenge and it was the best decision. The restaurant is intimate and the food is impeccable.

We kind of went ham and ordered everything on the menu… calories don’t count on vacation, am-I-right? My favorite dish was their GZ Butter Poached Lobster Roll… omg, typing that made my mouth water. I’m hungry. I also really enjoyed their grilled octopus. Everything we tried was unreal and of course their Rose Sangria hit the spot. Point Royal also has a daily “oyster hour” from 5:30pm-6:30pm with specials on raw bar and select cocktails. Count. Me. In!

Day 2 Fun in the Sun!

After a much needed breakfast at Counter Point the beach was calling our name! My big girl breakfast included a Goat Cheese Quiche and a Blueberry Scone. It was a quick grab and go because the sun was shining and I needed to soak in as much as possible. Everything about the Diplomat Beach Resort has been carefully designed. Including the Counter Point Cafe which had the most amazing display of donuts and treats. I loved all of the details of the resort and showcased some of my favorite design spots via Instastory.

The staycation in Hollywood Beach Florida was the perfect getaway and helped me get back into zen mode! Loved every aspect of the resort ESPECIALLY that I didn’t have to leave the resort for any reason. I can’t wait to go back for a visit to try Monkitail and dip in the pool!
