The Top 5 Spa Retreats in Miami – Brickell & Downtown

Miami Spa Retreats- Brickellista

August is the most brutally steamy month of the year in Miami. It blatantly sucks but it’s MY favorite month because I can be fat and relaxed. Let me explain, August is the month where Miami Spa Month and Miami Spice come together to create a vortex of complete bliss. Naturally, I partake in all activities which parallel to any of the seven sins, and August allows me to skip the outdoor schvitz and find redemption in the AC.

You guys know I love a good spa day. Whether it’s a spa day at home, or at one of Miami’s best spas. We all need a good pampering every once in a while. So where can you find me getting pampered this August? Here is my list of my favorite Spa Month picks in the Brickell & Downtown Area.

The Best Spa Retreats In Miami

Relaxing Spa Retreat

My Spa at the Intercontinental Miami

Let’s discuss this spa. First of all they have a Summer Spa & Pool Membership Package, which includes access to the hotel’s rooftop pool and Saturday summer pool parties. At $89 per month it makes all of my NYC friends green with envy. The membership includes a choice of a 50 min myMassage or mySignature Facial each month. It also includes use of fitness center, hotel pool, showers, locker room, sauna & steam room, and complimentary Valet Parking. To sweeten the deal they also provide a glass of bubbles. That’s how they lured me – bubbles gets me every time!

The first thing you will notice is how intimate the experience feels. The lights are kept dim and it’s very quiet – especially in the lounge – I took the best cat nap there while I waited for my services. Make sure you make give yourself enough time to sit in the steam room and sauna.

Make sure you try he Summer Sole Spectacular – it will leave your tootsies feeling… welp spectacular! The 50 minute treatment includes a sweet smelling foot and leg scrub and it is followed by the most delicious foot massage ever. Ever. Reflexology bring it on! I also love love love their 80 minute massage and Raindrop Experience.

All of their Spa Month specials will be extended to September – now how sinful is that?!

The Spa at the Conrad Hotel

The Spa at the Conrad takes the top spot for best treatment names during Spa Month. With names like Miami Mojito Body Glow Body Treatment and the Arroz con Mango how could you not be swooned into this Miami vice!

The top spot goes to the Mojito Body glow which includes a lime and coconut scrub and mint moisture body wrap. It’s cooling and refreshing and helps you recover after a night of too many mojitos. Their rooms are perfectly dim and relaxing so you can oOOooMMm and zen the day away.

Another treatment to definitely try is the Arroz con Mango. The treatment  includes a 50 min massage with tangy mango oil and a 50 min facial. The facial uses a rice exfoliating cleanse and a mango hydrating mask which leaves your skin radiant.

Exhale at the Epic Hotel

Acu Organ Therapy is all the rage right now and Exhale is world renowned for their mind-body therapies.  This treatment is where acupuncture meets abdominal massage for incredibly cleansing and detoxifying results. The therapy begins with a tailored acupuncture session targeting the digestive system – if you are terrified of needles this might not be your gig, however I truly recommend it!

The acupuncture session is followed by a hot oil abdominal massage where toxins are errrmm…. “released” from your body. It’s the ultimate belly rub and if you’re like me and like to indulge in a lot of cheese burgers then this is the best detoxifier for you.

The combination of massage and acupuncture will leave you lighter and energized throughout the day. The best part of the package is you get two classes so you can sweat your toxins with a workout, and then take your detoxed bod to a new level with a massage.

The Spa at the Mandarin Oriental Miami

This is GabeBabe’s favorite destination and she is a fan of the massages at the Spa at the Mandarin Oriental.Their spa packages are the perfect retreat for Brickellites featuring a variety of combinations including mani and pedi sessions. My favorite pick is the Destress Massage because as you all know I’m high anxiety all day’ery day! This full body massage gets me back on track because they use medium to firm pressure and really get in the knots with elbow and forearm work.

The best part about the Spa at the Mandarin Oriental is the impeccable views of Biscayne Bay. I’m a sucker for a good water view, we do live in Miami after all, and the MO totally delivers some of the best views in the city.

Mandarin Oriental Spa - Brickellista

Icon Brickell Spa

The Spa is back at the Icon Brickell / W Hotel / former Viceroy hotel. However you want to categorize it, the spa at the infamous Icon recently re-opened it’s doors under new management. While the kinks are getting worked out with the new group, you can get your kinks worked out during spa month – and the massages are pretty fabulous! My favorite treatment is the 70 minute Signature Facial. I’m all about age prevention and their treatment is formulated with advanced ingredients especially designed for Miami skin needs.

The Signature Facial includes BABOR specific massage and manual techniques that stimulate skin regeneration and prevent the signs of aging. The best part is the lip and eye treatments which leave your face feeling totally hydrated and plump.  The skin is refreshed, radiant and younger looking.

I know I’m craving another spa day… in fact my shoulders are a little tense after writing this article. I guess I better treat myself to another massage!

Hope you guys enjoy Spa Month and let me know which treatments topped your list in the comments below.
