One of my bucket list items for years has been to go to New York Fashion Week in the Spring. And I told myself that this would be the year I knocked things off my bucket list without any excuses! It’s my year of saying “yes!” So I booked a flight and my favorite hotel in Columbus Circle, The Hudson, and got my suitcase ready for fun in the city.
And I’m going to be real with you, Fashion Week in the Spring is filled with incredible people watching. There’s nothing that my {gossipy} inner Bubbie loves more than people watching. hehe.
So I parked myself at a cafe and watched fashion bloggers trot around Spring Street in the most unusual outfits. I felt super un-fashion and boring sipping my latte! But like I always say – there’s a shoe for every foot, and being a colorful fashionista is not my shoe!
I do however LOVE a good fashion show!
And luckily I had a fairytale princess moment when I sat front row at the Nicole Miller Show courtesy of Glamsquad!
Miller’s designs are all about empowering women and I’ve been fan girling her for YEARS.
This year, her gender-bending runway got a standing ovation as this was Miller’s first time sending men down the runway as part of her womenswear show. It was INCREDIBLE.
So what else did I do in the City? Check out my favorite spots below!
The List Part 1: My Favorite Restaurants in New York City
Milk Bar – Crack pie, milkshakes, and compost cookie.
Seasoned Vegan in Harlem – Try the raw lasagna!!! Impeccable.
Sarabeth’s – grab a scone and coffee and walk around Central Park like Blair and Serena.
Bouchon Bakery – The pistachio macaroon is life.
The Plaza Hotel – go for serious Eloise vibes over high-tea.
Polo Bar – it’s hard to get a reservation, so call a few weeks ahead of time to get a reservation. It’s classic, charming, and super cozy.
Restoration Hardware – I love the RH in West Palm Beach so it goes without saying this is a must see in NYC too! Definitely dine at the rooftop restaurant.
Kawi at the Hudson Yards – the newest concept by the Momofuku Group super yum!
La Esquina – Margaritas! Oh and great Mexican makes for a fun girl’s night in SoHo.
Django – if you’re a sucker for good music then check out the jazz club at The Roxy Hotel
The Spaniard – located in the West Village is a top rest spot for me.
Chinese Tuxedo in China Town – for for the cocktails and atmosphere!
Bubby’s – One of my favorite brunch spots.
Manhatta – incredible views of the Statue of Liberty, so grab a drink and enjoy!
Emily in West Village – If you love pizza and burgers… I mean of course you do! So good check it out.
My Hidden Gem Hotel in New York
The Hudson Hotel
If you’re a little dark and longing for quiet after a day in the City. Then check out the Hudson. Born from the innovative vision of designer Philippe Starck, this New York boutique hotel, is stylish, democratic, young at heart and utterly cool. It’s located in midtown, just steps from Central Park, Columbus Circle Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Time Warner Center and the theater district.
It’s an intimate hotel with plenty of amenities, a great gym, and a fabulous outdoor sitting area. In addition, they are super Zoey friendly. I usually book a suite so I can work in my bathrobe from the room. #TreatYoSelf!
It’s also close to my favorite spa – Exhale! This is where I go in NYC to unwind with a massage post yoga class.

My Favorite Neighborhood in New York
Call me an old lady, but surprise surprise, I love the Midtown area close Central Park South. It has an old world charm to it that feels very New York. Plus, I love the modern high-rises sprinkled amongst the pre-war buildings. It’s also home to some of my favorite spots in the City!
What I love about this neighborhood is the proximity to Central Park. I love walking Zoey around the park — she literally hops around because there’s so many spots to play in. I also love walking through the Park and heading over to Harlem with a stop at the Met along the way.
