The only wrinkles I love are wrinkles of the brain! For me learning is important and being knowledgeable in various topics makes for a well rounded life. Podcasts are a great way to listen to the news, learn about new genres, and empower goals. So it’s no surprise that during home quarantine and self-isolation, I’ve been listening to more podcasts than usual.
Usually my mornings are spent with The Daily, Up First, and Cheddar’s Need 2 Know Podcast. And throughout the day I will listen to some empowering Podcasts to keep me motivated as I work from home.
I wanted to share my list with all of you in hopes that it makes your quarantine more manageable.
Best Podcasts to Pass the Time During Self-Isolation and COVID-19 Quarantine
The Daily by New York Times
Forget Bieber Fever, Michael Barbaro is turning up the heat! I can’t start my day without him, in fact, I miss him on the weekends.
I listen to The Daily and NPR’s Up First each morning while getting ready for work.

Up First by NPR
Rachel Martin, David Greene and Steve Instep have become my morning besties. This Podcast is usually around 10 – 20 minutes long and has digestible daily news. NPR has some of the best Podcasts on the market and they are typically driven by hot topics. I listen to The Daily and Up First each morning for a well rounded view on the news.

Pardon My Take
SPORTS! I love Barstool Sports even though I don’t love love sports, this Podcast breaks down the latest and the guys are super funny. So for those of you missing your sports talk due to the COVID-19 outbreak, then this is the Podcast for you.
These guys crack me up!

LORE
This Podcast is all about folklore and it’s history. It’s dark. It’s a little gory. But overall it’s a cool breakdown on some of the folklore we’ve all grown up with. For example, why some people believe in things like zombies. Lore has become my new Newtflix & Chill because I’ve run out of TV to watch.
Bonus: this podcast will make you sound super cool {and creepy} at a networking event. Check it out!

Tribe of Mentors
Tim Ferris is king and this Podcast is derived from his latest book Tribe of Mentors. One things that’s super cool about Tim is that he loves sharing his wealth of knowledge . The Tribe of Mentors Podcast brings in some of the top people in business, sports, media, politics, etc. to give their advice. It’s worth a listen especially if you need a little motivation.
Topics: Business + Personal Empowerment
Dan Carlin’s Hardcore History
History is cool and confusing, but necessary. Dan Carlin breaks down some of history’s forgotten moments in VERY long episodes, most are over three hours. Bless this man for talking so long. It’s updated sparingly but its a cool Podcast. I found it when I was sick with the flu a few years ago and it certainly made for an easy distraction.

Oprah’s Super Soul Conversations
You guys know I love Oprah – she is QUEEENN!!! And having her in my ear whenever I want is like winning the Power Ball. I love listening to this Podcast while cooking or cleaning. She brings on incredible guests that talk about their experiences in life and how they found happiness.
In addition, it has valuable tips for introspection.

The Ed Mylett Show
I admit I’m a terrible time manager. I can dilly dally with the best of them and if there were a Dilly Dally Award – I’d be the winner.
Ed Mylett hosts a myriad of guests covering topics like calendar blocking, meal prepping, and overcoming smartphone addiction. It’s not a daily listen for me but definitely a good listen when you need a little motivation and perspective. Ed is charming, welcoming, and has great insight on hardships. Perfect for COVID-19 times.
